It is several very different products sold under the same two words, at wildly different levels of quality, and the gap between the best and the rest is enormous. "Home care" is three different products wearing one name
Before you compare prices, understand that you are not comparing like for like. Most of what gets called home care in Las Vegas falls into one of three tiers, and they are worlds apart.

It means a registered nurse builds the care plan, reviews what happens at every single visit, and is actively hunting for the early signs of decline that an untrained eye sails right past. It means a dedicated caregiver who sees your loved one consistently, learns their routine, and becomes someone they trust, instead of a parade of strangers. It means the agency keeps its caseload deliberately small so attention is never spread thin. And it means total coordination with the rest of the medical world, so the family is never left to navigate the system alone.
The five markers of genuinely premium private home care

1. A registered nurse is clinically accountable, by name
Not "we have a nurse on staff." An actual RN who owns the clinical picture, builds the plan, reviews the visit notes, and answers for the quality of care. This is the single highest-value feature in all of home care, and it is the first thing budget providers cut.
2. A dedicated, consistent, genuinely skilled caregiver
One person your loved one knows, not a rotating roster. Consistency is a safety feature: the caregiver who shows up every week is the one who notices the slightly worse balance or the fuller pill bottle before it becomes a fall or a hospitalization.
3. Caregivers paid well above market, so they actually stay
Turnover is the silent destroyer of care quality. A premium provider recruits the best talent and pays to keep them, because a caregiver who quits in three weeks never learns your loved one at all. Ask how they pay and how long their caregivers stay.
4. A small, exclusive client list
This sounds like a limitation and is actually the point. A provider serving a handful of families can pour real attention into each one. A provider juggling hundreds cannot, no matter how warm the sales call sounded.

Why the cheaper choice is the most expensive one you can make
Families choose the budget tier to save money. It is usually the costliest decision they make, because the entire purpose of skilled, supervised care is to prevent the crises that drain a family's savings.
